Assistant Professor of Counseling Psychology The department of Counseling Psychology and Applied Human Development within the Boston University Wheelock College of Education and Human Development invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position as
Assistant Professor in Counseling Psychology. Competitive candidates will have a strong program of research and the ability to contribute to the practice and teaching of core courses in our APA-Accredited Counseling Psychology Ph.D. program and our Ed.M. Counseling program that includes three strands of specialization - Sport Psychology, Child and Adolescent Mental Health, and/or School Counseling. We are interested in candidates whose research programs and clinical training would complement our Wheelock Strategic Plan and Guidestar and expand, strengthen and/or amplify our expertise in one or more areas related to current research streams in our department. Of particular areas of interests, but not limited to, may include: research on mental health disparities, mental health interventions in sport and exercise settings, trauma-informed practices, career and vocational interventions, and/or equity and social justice.

We are especially interested in candidates whose research and practice interests represent an intersection with one or more of our training areas and a critical area of research. For example, we are interested in a licensed (preferred) or license-eligible and who graduated from an APA- Accredited Counseling Psychology.
Responsibilities Teach graduate-level courses related to our doctoral program in counseling psychology and master's degree program in counseling.
Establish a strong program of grant-funded research
Supervise graduate students in practicum placements and independent research.
Be an engaged citizen in providing service to the department, college/university, and the profession.
This position begins 07/01/2025. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
Required Skills Required Qualifications Graduate from an APA-Accredited Counseling Psychology program and APA Accredited internship
Preferred Qualifications Licensed or license-eligible in Massachusetts
Supervision experience
Research program shows potential for attracting extramural funding
