Position: Chemical Plant Operator
Our Client, a leading chemical manufacturing company, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chemical Plant Operator to join their team in Houston, TX. As a Chemical Plant Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various chemical processing equipment to produce high-quality products in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor chemical processing equipment, including pumps, valves, reactors, and distillation columns, to produce high-quality products according to production schedules and quality standards
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation
- Monitor and control process variables such as temperature, pressure, and flow rates to maintain optimal process conditions
- Conduct quality control checks on products to ensure they meet specifications and make necessary adjustments to the process as needed
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues
- Maintain accurate production records and report any issues or concerns to the Plant Manager
- Participate in training programs and stay up-to-date on industry developments and best practices
- Assist with the loading and unloading of raw materials and finished products
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in chemical processing is preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Chemical Plant Operator in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of chemical processes and equipment, including pumps, valves, and distillation columns
- Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines for working with hazardous chemicals
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and follow standard operating procedures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time
- Must be willing to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed
