About The Position

Hours: 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM CT, Monday to Friday

Location: Birmingham, AL

The Compliance Associate II is responsible for managing Financial Hardship Assistance Program, and assisting with Medicare audits and appeals, in compliance with their respective requirements. The Compliance Associate will work within the scope of responsibilities as dictated below with guidance and support from our Operations and Compliance leadership teams.

Essential Functions

  • Oversees Financial Hardship Program documents, validates documentation, and performs initial review for approval.
  • Assumes responsibility for preparing and maintaining application records by updating database and scanning documents as necessary to maintain accurate data.
  • Types and assembles letters, memos, and reports as necessary.
  • Identifies effectiveness of Financial Hardship Program and communicates findings with Leadership.
  • Hosts periodic site visits by Government and National entities with support from Compliance Leadership.
  • Monitors all Signage, Licenses, and expiration dates monthly.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with Building Management.
  • Communicates status updates to leadership, at minimum on a weekly basis.
  • Sorts and forwards mail to headquarter office.
  • Ensures appropriate representation of ADS by demonstrating the greatest degree of professionalism and conduct.
  • Serves as a liaison between Compliance and external departments
  • Complies with HIPAA rules, appropriately safeguarding PHI or other private & confidential information.
  • Adapts quickly to frequent process changes and improvements.
  • Is reliable, engaged, and provides feedback as to improve processes and policies.
  • Attends all department, team, and company meetings as required.

  • Duties and responsibilities may be subject to change based upon the needs of the department.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years' experience in a compliance capacity
  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance issues, including HIPAA privacy rules & requirements
  • Familiarity with a variety of auditing & appeals processes and procedures
  • Knowledge of licensure and credentialing applications
  • Knowledge of insurance billing and processing claims
  • Proficiency in basic math and business calculations
  • Working knowledge of computer/data entry with the ability to learn new systems
  • Basic level of MS Office proficiency

Pay ranges may vary depending on location. Actual compensation depends on education, experience, and relevant skills. In addition, benefits include:
