Idaho National Laboratory is hiring an Instrument Technician to work in our Instrumentation and Controls Crafts department. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our Advanced Test Reactor (ATR) facility west of Idaho Falls with every Friday off. All work is performed onsite. You will maintain instrumentation systems and equipment at the Advanced Test Reactor and ATR Complex. You will report directly to the Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Craft Foreman. Responsibilities Include:
- Perform maintenance (corrective, preventative, predictive, routine, and troubleshooting) on instrumentation systems and components.
- Provide recommendations to the planner on hazard identification, hazard mitigation, technical information, task sequencing, resource requirements, equipment requirements, and other information to produce a work document that can be used in the field to accomplish the identified work scope.
- Review work orders/packages per INL work control procedures and provides meaningful and useful feedback.
- Actively participate in INL briefings and post job reviews. Perform walk downs as directed by the foreman.
- Provide on-the-job training to other craftsmen as requested by maintenance management.
- Provide feedback to the foreman on any training needs or improvements that are needed to drive better performance and identifying any opportunities for improvement.
- Provide feedback to the Planning Manager or Planning Technical Lead on any recommended improvements to the work order documentation process.
- Maintain assigned qualifications following the INL and applicable program qualification process.
- Plan and implement special projects within area of expertise assigned by the foreman.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements: - High school diploma, or equivalent, and 4 years of relevant experience, or a relevant Vocational Certificate and 2 years of experience, or a relevant Associate degree.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
Job Information: - Salary: 2nd Class: $39.72/hour / 1st Class: $44.36/hour (Rate can vary based upon individual work location, clearances, and qualifications. Rates are accurate for current posting and subject to change. These are bargaining unit positions.)
