The Opportunity:

As a Library and Archives Paraprofessional 2, you will independently perform routine paraprofessional library and/or archival tasks and services for the Owen Science & Engineering Library. A primary responsibility of this position is to lead the unit's student temporary employees, which includes training, assigning, and monitoring their work, to ensure the unit's quality standards for public service are met. This position will bring unusual or complex problems to higher-level staff to resolve. The position's regularly scheduled hours are currently 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday. Schedule may vary during academic intersessions and/or may change to accommodate unit needs.

A member of a consortium of libraries through Washington, Oregon, and Idaho, the Libraries at WSU support the university's teaching and research programs by selecting, organizing, preserving, and providing ready access to sources of knowledge in all formats at all WSU locations.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school graduation or equivalent and one year of experience in the functional operations of a library or archives. Equivalent education or experience will substitute.




Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to cover occasional night/weekend shifts as necessary.

Monthly Salary: $3,239 to $4,299 | Range 37 Steps A-M | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 .
