Job Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join the team in Alaska. As an LCSW, you will provide comprehensive mental health services to individuals, families, and groups, addressing a range of psychological, emotional, and social issues. Your expertise will be crucial in supporting the mental well-being of our diverse client population, including those in remote and underserved areas.

As an LCSW, the role involves conducting comprehensive assessments of clients’ mental health, social, and emotional needs. Based on these assessments and client goals, individualized treatment plans are developed, employing various diagnostic tools and methodologies to identify mental health conditions and provide accurate diagnoses. In counseling and therapy, individual, group, and family therapy sessions are delivered, addressing a range of psychological and emotional issues with evidence-based techniques tailored to each client’s needs. Clients' progress is monitored and evaluated, with treatment plans adjusted as needed. In crisis intervention, immediate support is offered, including risk assessments and safety planning, while collaborating with emergency services and other professionals to ensure client safety. Case management duties involve coordinating with healthcare providers, community resources, and support systems to provide comprehensive care. Assistance is given to clients in accessing necessary services, such as medical, social, and financial support, with accurate records of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes maintained.

Advocacy includes representing clients' needs within the healthcare system and the community, educating them and their families about mental health issues, coping strategies, and available resources. Support is provided in developing and implementing strategies to achieve personal and therapeutic goals. Professional development includes staying up-to-date with the latest research, techniques, and best practices in social work and mental health, participating in ongoing training and supervision, and maintaining licensure while adhering to ethical standards. The LCSW will also perform other duties as assigned.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a mental health setting.
  • Proficiency in various therapeutic techniques and approaches.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including those in rural and remote areas.
  • Familiarity with Alaskan cultural and social issues is preferred.

Education Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
  • Current and valid Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification in Alaska.
