This is a full-time, direct placement for H&G Systems

We are seeking an experienced Plumbing Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of plumbing projects in healthcare, industrial, and commercial environments. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure that estimates meet budgetary and safety requirements, while also adhering to industry regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimate Preparation:

- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for plumbing and medical gas systems, including materials, labor, and overheads.

- Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to identify scope, requirements, and potential cost variables.

- Analyze subcontractor and vendor quotes to ensure competitive pricing.

Project Analysis:

- Assess project timelines, budgets, and resources, and provide recommendations for optimizing cost-efficiency without compromising quality or safety.

- Conduct risk assessments to identify potential cost overruns and recommend mitigation strategies.

Compliance and Certification:

- Ensure all estimates comply with industry standards, building codes, and safety regulations, especially those related to medical gas systems.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant plumbing codes, regulations, and certifications (e.g., NFPA 99 for medical gas).

Collaboration and Communication:

- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, architects, and clients to ensure estimates align with project goals.

- Communicate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure accurate pricing and material availability.

Bid Preparation:

- Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals for new projects, ensuring all estimates are detailed, competitive, and align with company margins.

- Present cost estimates to clients, answer any questions, and adjust proposals as necessary.

Post-Estimate Support:

- Support project managers during the construction phase by clarifying estimate details and addressing any variances in project costs.

- Update estimates as necessary based on project scope changes or unforeseen conditions.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

Experience:

- Minimum of 10 years of field plumbing experience.

- Preference for 3 years or more of plumbing estimating experience.

- Preference for experience with medical gas systems and understanding of NFPA 99 standards.

Certifications:

- Medical Gas Certification (preferred but not required).

- Any relevant plumbing licenses or certifications (Journeyman, Master Plumber, etc.).

- OSHA safety certifications are a plus.

Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in using software such as Bluebeam, Trimble Estimating software and Microsoft programs (Excel & Word).

- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical documents, and specifications.

- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and installation processes, particularly in medical gas environments.

Other Skills:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent written and verbal communication.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
