Standardized Patient (Temporary)
Standardized patients assist in the teachingand assessment of pharmacy learners by portraying or simulating a patient aspart of a patient case. These activities allow learners the opportunity todevelop, practice and enhance their patient interviewing skills, communicationskills, and physical exam techniques. SPs learn all aspects of a case portrayalincluding the patient's appearance, demeanor, chief complaint, symptoms, pastmedical history, family history, and physical findings. Ability to read printedmaterials. Ability to effectively communicate via the telephone, in person, andelectronically. Ability to have repeated non-invasive physical examinationmaneuvers performed on self.
Hours will be per diem and defined according to pre-determined semester course needs. Additional hours as needed for training and review. High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or higher preferred. Experience in education, academia, theater, and/or performing arts preferred. Strong communication skills desired. Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
