Job Responsibilities Are you passionate about education and civic engagement? Do you have a talent for organizing and delivering impactful training programs? Join the South Carolina Election Commission as our Training Coordinator and play a crucial role in supporting our election officials statewide!
Position Overview: As the Training Coordinator, you will work under the supervision of the Division Director, taking charge of the planning, coordination, and execution of training programs for county election officials. You will be instrumental in revising and updating our training curriculum, ensuring that our election officials are well-prepared and knowledgeable.
Key Responsibilities: - Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the Division Director and subject matter experts to revise and enhance our training curriculum, ensuring it remains current and effective.
- Training Delivery: Conduct training classes, workshops, and events for county election officials at the agency headquarters and regional locations throughout South Carolina.
- Team Coordination: Collaborate with a team of trainers, ensuring that training sessions are effectively organized and delivered.
- Certification: Conduct certification classes for county board members and office directors, helping them meet required standards and qualifications.
- Project Involvement: Serve as a resource for ad hoc projects involving counties, bringing your training expertise to various initiatives.

Minimum and Additional Requirements A bachelor's degree and at least three years in education, training, or similar experience is required.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data, election laws, and election policies and procedures. Ability to conduct meetings and give presentations to small and large groups. Must have excellent public speaking and writing skills. Must have ability to train others while simultaneously completing projects, as assigned.
- Employee must be able to exercise sound judgment and discretion. Employee must also be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers and the public.
Preferred Qualifications - Certified trainer or licensed educator with at least five years of teaching experience (current licensure not required).
- Proven ability to deliver complex materials and processes in a simple, understandable way to an audience of varying abilities and competencies.
- Experience developing and revising curriculum.
- Experience in facilitating professional/continuing education.
